10am Meeting in the Tourist Information Office of Szeged
10.30am „A piece of Paris” – guided walking tour 1st part
During the guided tour we will see the most beautiful Art Nouveau buildings of Szeged from inside and outside, as well. The upper middle class luxury palaces reveal their interior pomp: wrought iron staircases, original ceramics and colorful glass windows.
Sights: Beregi House, Deutsch Palace, Gróf Palace, Reök Palace
12.30pm Lunch in the city center anf after that is free time
3pm – 5.30pm Guided Art Nouveau tour with wine tasting in the Jewish district
The departure of the tour is at Borháló wine shop, where after tasting kosher wine we start our sightseeing tour in the Jewish district of Szeged. Sights: Jewish Community Building, House at Jósika Street 14., New Synagogue
2nd day
10am „A piece of Paris” – guided walking tour 2nd part
Ede Magyar, who died at a very young age, was the star architect of Szeged. In barely 8 years he designed dozens of buildings in the city. But do we know at all where they stand? The guided tour reveals inside and outside the most beautiful buildings of the genius architect who created the Reök Palace.

3pm „The jewels of Art Nouveau from the Old Lady to Széchenyi Square” – guided walking tour
We will visit the Old Lady, the water tower in Szent István tér, a landmark of industrial history of Szeged. The first building made of ferro-concrete and the square around it are a popular meeting point and a significant part of the city’s atmosphere. In the first part of the two-hour walk we visit the Old Lady and we will enjoy the beautiful panorama from the top of the tower, with the Art Nouveau buildings that are the same age as the water tower. In the second part of the tour we will explore the hidden and the very visible beauties of the neighborhood, the typical motifs and unique architecture of Hungarian Art Nouveau.
